GENTRY Loves Ilaria Urbinati 08/26/2010 by Mr. Sato

GENTRY launched its first collection Holiday 2009 exclusively with Confederacy. Since then, Ilaria Urbinati has been fully behind our brand and much of our success is thanks to that support.

We’re proud to call Ilaria and Confederacy family.

GENTRY at (capsule) 02/20/2010 by Mr. Sato

GENTRY just finished up two days showing the new Hemingway Collection at (capsule) in Las Vegas. We want to thank all our friends, old and new, who gave us such amazing feedback on our new line. We particularly would like to thank Eugene Tong from Details, Jim Moore from GQ and David Lipke from WWD.

Cecconi’s | Warren Alfie Baker 02/14/2010 by Mr. Sato

Depending on your general disposition and outlook on life, Sundays are primarily for:

A) Church

B) Brunch

C) Sleeping

Although we’re never one to pass up an opportunity to don Sunday’s Best, we generally skip A and go straight to B…and when there’s time slip in C.

One of the best locations for a Sunday brunch is Cecconi’s on Robertson and Melrose. With true European service, Cecconi’s serves up a simple yet impressive menu of breakfast basics amidst one of the most beautiful indoor/outdoor courtyards.

We had brunch with Warren Alfie Baker, a true English gentleman, who not only runs the showroom for Reiss, but also is the face of GENTRY. Over coffee and english breakfast tea, he gave us his thoughts on the new season in preparation for our trip to (capsule) next week. One can never overvalue the opinion of the London gentry.

The cabinet also includes six bespoke Linley crystal tumblers, as well as a cigar humidor.

Nikki & Rich 01/19/2010 by Mr. Sato

RSVPNikki & Rich are the best thing to hit music since Diana Ross met The Supremes. Their sound is reminiscent of that doo wop soul that permeated the American music landscape of the 1950s. The music transports you back to a better time when you got your soda from a fountain and enjoyed dinner around a dining room table. It does exactly what music should do: Incite nostalgia.

They describe themselves as: “Lauryn Hill meets The Supremes while hanging out with Alicia Keys listening to Outkast “Hey Yah”

However you describe their music, we’re proud to call Rich and Nikki friends and wish them the best of luck in 2010 as they release their first major label album on Reprise/Warner Bros.

If you’re in LA and can sneak your way into the room, come check out their showcase tomorrow at 9PM at The Roxy. If you’re not in the area, you can always check them out on their MYSPACE PAGE

The Handpresso Wild 01/10/2010 by Mr. Sato

handpresso-wild-010610-xlgHere at GENTRY we are suckers for great things that come in small packages. When that idea is married with our near constant need for a quick yet coffee house-caliber fix for caffeine, we can’t help getting overly excited.

The Handpresso Wild ($140) works like this: Pump the handle on the Handpresso until the necessary amount of pressure it built up. Pour hot water into the half dome, throw in a coffee pod, and press the release button. The pressure forces the water through the pod and into your espresso cup giving you that perfect shot of espresso anywhere you are.

Andreas Murkudis – Berlin 01/07/2010 by Mr. Waldhauser

Tucked away in a small building round the corner from Hackesche Höfe in Mitte, Andreas Murkudis has become a staple for Berlin fashion – showcasing such noteworthy brands as Maison Martin Margiela, Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten and Jil Sander to Berlin-based fashion lines from Kostas Murkudis (the storeowner’s brother) and Haltbar. The space itself is beautiful – minimalist and reflective of a very Berlin aesthetic. AM should be sought out by every discerning gentleman and lady. Perhaps this could be GENTRY’s first home in Berlin, Mr. Sato?

The 35 Manliest Mustaches of All Time 12/28/2009 by Mr. Sato

errolThe good people over at The Art of Manliness have put together another amazing list in which they highlight the 35 manliest mustaches in the history of mankind.

Not every man can pull off a mustache- stylistically and physiologically speaking. However, we at GENTRY definitely stand firmly behind the majority of these men when we say, bravo for that little tuft of hair above your upper lip that gives you so much panache.

Check out the full list of men alongside Mr. Errol Flynn here over at The Art of Manliness.
