The Handpresso Wild 01/10/2010 by Mr. Sato

handpresso-wild-010610-xlgHere at GENTRY we are suckers for great things that come in small packages. When that idea is married with our near constant need for a quick yet coffee house-caliber fix for caffeine, we can’t help getting overly excited.

The Handpresso Wild ($140) works like this: Pump the handle on the Handpresso until the necessary amount of pressure it built up. Pour hot water into the half dome, throw in a coffee pod, and press the release button. The pressure forces the water through the pod and into your espresso cup giving you that perfect shot of espresso anywhere you are.

Andreas Murkudis – Berlin 01/07/2010 by Mr. Waldhauser

Tucked away in a small building round the corner from Hackesche Höfe in Mitte, Andreas Murkudis has become a staple for Berlin fashion – showcasing such noteworthy brands as Maison Martin Margiela, Balenciaga, Dries Van Noten and Jil Sander to Berlin-based fashion lines from Kostas Murkudis (the storeowner’s brother) and Haltbar. The space itself is beautiful – minimalist and reflective of a very Berlin aesthetic. AM should be sought out by every discerning gentleman and lady. Perhaps this could be GENTRY’s first home in Berlin, Mr. Sato?

errolThe good people over at The Art of Manliness have put together another amazing list in which they highlight the 35 manliest mustaches in the history of mankind.

Not every man can pull off a mustache- stylistically and physiologically speaking. However, we at GENTRY definitely stand firmly behind the majority of these men when we say, bravo for that little tuft of hair above your upper lip that gives you so much panache.

Check out the full list of men alongside Mr. Errol Flynn here over at The Art of Manliness.

The Crocker Club 12/09/2009 by Mr. Sato

crocker club - bar

crocker club - vaultDowntown Los Angeles is slowly coming back to life and The Crocker Club is one of our favorite haunts. It’s in the old bank district and is housed in the former Crocker Bank. It still holds much of the original aesthetic with all the original tiling, bank vault and safety deposit boxes. It’s got one of the best selections of whiskeys in town and the gentlemen who run the joint are first class.

We loved the place so much that we used the location to shoot our first campaign. We highly recommend this spot for happy hour where the crowd is a good mix of local artists and business people. If you’re in the neighborhood, we suggest grabbing a quick bite to eat at Ilan Hall’s new restaurant, The Goebels, across the street, then ending the night with a few Macallan 17′s neat.
